Whether you have been exposed to the Floortime model or not, these 6 weeks will open your eyes to the wonderful world of development through play. The world of play for children are their occupation, their “brain” exercise into the process of “growing up”. The parent and professional will explore the different social-emotional milestones together with a myriad of ideas to harness fuller potential in any child with any diagnosis. Maude takes the listener deep into the world of the developing learner and adds the strengths, opportunities, and possible pitfalls that need to be negotiated. She holds by two different mantra’s: “If the child could, he/she would” as well as “If typical development was good enough for the typically developing child, it will be good enough for the atypically developing child”. Explore the possibilities of social perspective tsaking, building theory of mind and developing a complex thinker. Look at behavior as a cue of communication that we could use to drive understanding and further potential. This is a must have course for every parent and every therapist. The techniques will be described across the age spectrum from early to later development.
