Autism Explained. The complexity, the research, the application

Categories: ,

Description: This workshop series of 6 webinars will deepen the understanding of the lives of Autistics within the official definitions, but also the practical application thereof in our understanding and more. Maude will discuss the relevance of current theories and the fundamental core difficulties associated with Autism, as she will also take a deeper dive into the overlap of Trauma and PTSD occurring in their lives. Maude’s compassionate approach originates from a multi-perspective view providing a holistic frame from which Autistics can be served. Her view of “meeting them where they are at” comes from her own clinical experience in multiple cases over many years as well as extensive training on this topic. She describes Autism from the “inside out” through many case examples to illustrate her thinking. Maude has developed her own assessment and intervention protocol through her work with her team at A Total Approach at her center. This workshop is renewed to reveal the most current research and is considered a bronze level course (Track 1). As such this workshop would be the pre-required first step in a 4-step ladder to progress in her certificate program.

  1. Charller

Maude is an excellent instructor. I love her ability to make the participants feel included even through an online platform. She creates an atmosphere where everyone can feel safe to participate in discussions and provide support with clinical reasoning to build the bridge from theory to practice.  I really enjoy attending her courses.

  2. Charller

I am still a novice in the world of therapy, but I feel that the knowledge I gain from Maude’s training is tremendously rich and helpful. It gives me a treasure for helping my clients, and more and more confidence in what I am doing.

  3. Charller

Every single member of our team has not stopped talking about how invaluable it was. In fact, pieces from the course are quoted daily by our staff in the classrooms and on the corridors. It has really refreshed our approach at looking at things and reminded us about the importance of understanding the why. Thank you for all you do in helping us step into the world of these incredible minds. It really is a blessing to learn from you and alongside you!
