Attachment – From Our First Relationship to Beyond: Durban - April, 24, 2020

We frequently witness our clients struggle with relational behavior, constricting their ability to become socially adaptive, flexible in their thinking, and avoiding the opportunities wherein they could learn to adapt and thrive. The emotional adaptive response is as important as our sensory adaptive response and is quite intertwined with each other in early development impacting occupational functioning throughout our life span. We will take a peek at the history of attachment, though emphasize the impact of attachment styles on sensory development, personality types and life style choices. Together we will consider the impact across the lifespan so as to support emphasis on early intervention. Assessment will be briefly discussed and intervention will be described through one child and one adult case study.
