Advanced Assessment of Praxis: Praxis Tools for the Busy Therapist

Date and Time: Friday, February 23, 2024, 8.30am to 4. 30pm US ET

Description:  Praxis is a complicated entity and Dr. Teresa May-Benson certainly has contributed to this body of knowledge in a major way.  Knowing how to assess adequately is an important consideration for the discerning therapist, as a good assessment, drives improved clinical thinking and intervention. We are excited to host Dr. May-Benson to present this practical one-day online assessment course, which will prepare the therapist to administer and interpret three praxis assessment tools: the Test of Ideational Praxis, the Motor Planning Maze Assessment, and the Gestural Assessment.  These three tools are quick and easy to administer and are particularly useful for the busy therapist who only has an hour or two for assessment.  In addition to specific training on these specialized praxis assessments, therapists will be given information on a quick battery of existing assessments needed for comprehensive praxis assessment which complement these tools. Ayres clinical observations will also be addressed as time allows.
